Welcome to the Ecumenical Community of Chautauqua (ECOC). We are a community of religious inclusion and compassion, providing hospitality and affordable accommodations and promoting dialogue, fellowship, and growth.
As a non-profit organization, we offer low-cost housing to individuals and families of all faiths during the 9-week season at Chautauqua Institution. Our three buildings, which have a total of 48 rooms and two apartments, are located within steps of the Amphitheater in the heart of Chautauqua. Our community kitchens allow guests to prepare their own meals, enjoy lively discussions, and form new friendships.
The Ecumenical Community of Chautauqua was founded in 2003 with the vision of providing low-cost housing for clergy, religious workers, and lay persons from all faith groups. Real-life ecumenical and interfaith relations are fostered at meal times and through community living where guests gain understanding of each other’s traditions and form lifelong friendships.
We are dedicated to providing an accessible and nurturing environment that supports the guests while they are experiencing the intellectual, cultural, and religious programs of Chautauqua.
